American Indian Removal was not a singular linear event. Removal was, and is, a personal, cultural, emotional and systematic trauma. It was the result of a complex interplay of politics, power, and cultures that, in many ways, are still at play today. The removal “story” is actually a collection of unique situations and circumstances and each tribe has its own story and narrative to tell. This site is designed to help tell those "stories" through images, audio, video, and activities for families and classrooms.
